Last night Shobhit was invited to a Tech 4 Housing meeting, which happened at the Capitol Hill branch of the Seattle Public Library, which is about a mile north of us—it's about a block from Laney's old apartment, before she moved out for her two years of van living at the beginning of 2021. He decided to walk there, for a meeting that went from 6:00 to 7:30. He must have left around 5:30, which would have been minutes after I got home after walking from work.

In the meantime, I had some of the dinner Shobhit had prepared, drank some chai he had surprisingly made (I'm usually the one who makes it, and now I much prefer it when I do, because now he wants to use less milk, which just makes it more watery and less flavorful), and I watched several episodes of season 2 of Sort Of.

Shobhit returned shortly after 8:00. We then watched the final two episodes of Fellow Travelers, a show that wasn't quite perfect—particularly with its Black characters, who sometimes had dialogue that sounded like it was AI generated—but was otherwise excellent.

Fellow Travelers was otherwise excellent to me for some very specific reasons: it had a whole lot of really hot, sometimes pretty explicit gay sex, but it (kind of amazingly) always served the story. And there was real depth to at least the two main characters, and the actors, especially Matt Bomer, gave really great performances. I cried more than once over the course of those alst two episodes in particular.

The show is based on a novel of the same name, and I thought, maybe I should read it! Then I browsed the very mixed reviews of the book on Goodreads and thought: maybe not. I have plenty of other boosks in my library queue to read next that I'd almost certainly like more.

I've got plenty on the agenda for this weekend. Dinner at Saffron Grill with Shobhit and Alexia tonight. A Braeburn Condos double feature on Sunday. No plans tomorrow though, and no movie to go see; I had originally intended to see Argylle with Shobhit last night but then he had that meeting, and between his and my schedules otherwise we'll now have to aim for Thursday next week. Maybe I'll find some old movie to watch while Shobhit's at work tomorrow, just some leisurely activity with no pressure for the day. That'll be nice.
