Total days in the winter with social interaction:
72 (78.3%, a +9.5 percentage point change from
winter)
. . . Quite the shakeup this quarter! Gabriel shot to the #3 spot, a rare event indeed, thanks in huge part to the weekend trip to Fox Island at the end of May, which covered three days (and thus three points) alone. This was on top of our perennial Birth Week outing in late April, plus our virtual co-watch of
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story while texting (and sometimes calling, when Disney+ on my end paused for commercials) at the same time. A banner quarter for Gabriel.
A banner quarter for Shobhit, too! Though not by the same margin—but with far greater numbers: Shobhit managed 36 points in the fall; 40 this time around, thanks to the likes of 8 points in a row for our trip to D.C. alone, plus four more during my Birth Week alone, and another belated Birth Week point when he joined to hang out with Lynn and Zephyr in Everett a week later. Without these things, he likely would have fewer points than last quarter. Hey, we should go on long vacations more often!
Laney remains safely ensconced at #2, though she has 22 points this quarter versus 27 she had last quarter. She'd have had 23, actually, but she had to cancel joining me at last night's movie due to a stomach bug. It made no difference to her standing in the rankings, of course—ever since she moved to Pride Place only six blocks away from me, and especially after I convinced her to sign up for an AMC-A-list membership, she is now pretty firmly in place as my "Number Two" social buddy, on par with the position Barbara had in my life between 2000 and 2010. (The key difference is that Laney doesn't clean our condo or do our ironing. God, I miss being able to pay Barbara to do that!)
Alexia has long been pretty firmly in the #3 spot, although her point totals have gone down on average largely because of her move out to Issaquah last year—thankfully we still get together with reliable regularity. Still, this time around it was Gabriel (of all people!) who knocked Alexia down to #4. Karen has bounced back to #5 with four points herself this quarter, and then Cathryn, from work, makes a surprise jump to #6, also with four points—thanks to two lunches and two different work group outings. And right after her, Garret, Gabriel's brother, makes an unheard-of appearance in the top 10, simply for the three days he spent with Gabriel and me on Fox Island.
After that, we get Tony and Jake ranked at #8 and #9, respectively, them being among the group that gets kind of an unfair advantage thanks to the built-in biweekly event of Action Movie Night at the Braeburn Condos. There are other Action Movie Night regulars with as many points, but I ranked them much lower just because I don't tend to chat with or interact with them nearly as much. Jennifer, Danielle and Tracy all rank higher than other Action Movie Night regulars even though they each have only two points because I definitely spent far more time with them, both cumulatively and in direct socializing and interaction. (I actually stayed the night at Jennifer's house, my annual Birth Week tradition—Mimi gets 2 points as well for the same reason: Shobhit and I stayed the night with her whe we went up to Mount Vernon for the Tulip Festival.)
Anyway. I guess that's all the insight I need to share—except, I suppose, that I have 50 people ranked this quarter, compared to 33 from the fall, a big part of that being the Spring Social with my department at work at Flatstick Pub. My Birth Week always ups the numbers there too. It's the number of days I socialized with
someone that's kind of astonishing this time around: over the past three months there were only 20 days in which I did no socializing at all! Basically I've been socializing during 80% of my days, or four out of every five days.
All right, let's get on with it! The who did what with whom where and when. . .
