oh, what!

I don't have much to update you on today—finally!—which is just as well because I've been spending a lot of time on actual work this morning and don't have time for a major update anyway.

I did leave work at 3:50 yesterday, to take myself to see an ostensible comedy called Oh, Hi!. I didn't like it very much. I also didn't hate it, which is why the B-minus grade; I was either fine with or kind of liked everything about it except for the definitively subpar script.

I always like to look at other people's reviews of movies I go see, and in this case, there's sure a lot of people like "completely valid reaction to being rejected by Logan Lerman," or some variation thereof—alongside a lot of people on the side of the young woman's crazy character because of the male character's "toxic masculinity," which is indeed there, but deeply subtle at best. God knows it's not bad enough to justify holding someone captive naked and handcuffed to a bed for over 12 hours.

I just kind of really had a problem with that.

Shobhit went to an audition yesterday at Seattle Center, which I later learned was for a production of A Christmas Carolin Klingon (whaaa?). He said he had no real sense of whether he had any chance of getting a part, but it would be weirdly fun if he did.

Anyway, it kept him out relatively late; I think he got home shortly after 9:00. I had just finished up writing my review of the movie, so then we sat down to watch an episode of Foundation season 2, which is definitely getting better and more coherent, just like the first season did.

We did have two fairly significant delays getting into the episode, though. Dad turns 70 on Tuesday next week, and Sherri has organized a party for him on Sunday the 10th in Olympia. I got a phone call from Angel, to talk some stuff about it. And then we got to talking about her multiple surgeries removing all but four of her toes. She switched from Facebook Messenger audio (why she calls that way and not a regular phone call, I do not know) to video so I could see her horrendous looking foot. She says she likes to taunt her grandchildre n and say "I'm gonna touch you with it!"

I think I was on the phone with her about 25 minutes. And then Shobhit's mom called and they had to talk for several minutes. We finally got to the episode at around 10:00, so I got to bed a bit later then normal, but whatever it's fine!
