anna and the quickie

Yesterday I took myself to see Anna and the Apocalypse, mostly because it has gotten a fair amount of positive press and there was nothing better to go see -- so I went, even though it's yet another zombie movie. But! It's also a musical! Set at Christmastime! Yeah, well. My take on the movie is still basically . . . meh.
At least I didn't have to pay for it, or even use up a Costco discount ticket for Regal Cinemas: it was the single movie available in my MoviePass app. As I mentioned in the review, the guy I bought the ticket from saw my MoviePass card and said, "Yeah, butter use that while you can before the bottom falls out." Tell me about it. I figured I would be able to use the card for this movie though because MoviePass themselves sent out an email promoting it.
Shobhit's work shift was a little later than usual, so after I made myself a Field Roast veggie burger for dinner, he still wasn't home when it was time for me to leave to go back downtown. I thought he might be, but maybe traffic was bad. So I walked downtown to the movie, although I did manage to catch a #11 bus back up the hill afterward.
I then spent the next hour or so on the review, very soon after which I was getting ready for bed. I always prefer earlier showtimes but 7:10 was my only option for this.

I keep forgetting to mention that Alicia and I went on one of our "loop walks" on Friday afternoon last week. I'm only mentioning it now so there's a record of it.
Yesterday Noah came in with this huge box of sugar cookies with jam in their center, apparently made by Renee (his wife), and I thought they were incredible. When I told Noah that he offered me another one. "Don’t you know I'm trying to get you to gain ten pounds by the end of the year?" he said. I even emailed Renee (who works at the Fremont store) to tell her how good they were -- and after Noah set the rest out on a big plate in the kitchen, I grabbed two more to take home for Shobhit. I let them set out on a paper towel on top of his laptop when I left for the movie.
