Sat, 14:21: Okay guys I fired up the old Disney+ to give HOCUS POCUS one more chance, after having watched ages ago and writing it off as idiotic. Maybe I’d feel differently now? I fell asleep. Pretty impressive for a movie so manic and shrill, but then again it’s also numbingly brainless. Why do so many people love this turd of a movie, like it’s some holiday classic? Maybe because they loved it as five-year-olds, I guess. I, on the other hand, was 17 when it came out and much more interested in actual classics like, say, The Nightmare Before Christmas. Which, incidentally, is a movie that still holds up. This one does not.
