My Threads

  • Mon, 12:33: I looked up the dictionary definition of “Zionism” and it left me uncomfortable with the idea of declaring oneself “anti-Zionist,” as many pro-Palestinian people online seem to be demanding. (It’s notable that these people don’t tend to be anyone actually actively involved in the conflict, because, you know, the ones who are, are a little too busy for this bullshit.)

God forbid we ever acknowledge nuance in these discussions. Can it not be sufficient just to declare that we’re against the slaughter of innocent people, no matter who is doing it? Even if one side has slaughtered orders of magnitude more than the other?

Generalizing all Israelis (or all Jewish people), or all Palestinians (or all Muslim people) is the path of the moron, same as it is with generalizing any nationality, ethnicity or religion.
