I ate way too much yesterday.

For some weeks now I have been skipping lunch, but in more recent weeks kind of inadvertently mitigating that, in a sort of negative way, by continuing to partake in occasional snacks at the office—and, in effect, having a protein bar for lunch. I had already done that yesterday when a catered event for HBC store staff had excess food, it was offered to the rest of the office, and I wound up eating the last veggie club sandwich; some salad; a chocolate chip cookie; and—greens!—some salad. Then I also had some Kettle potato chips.

This was all before Shobhit and I headed to the Total Wine & More he works at in Interbay, for the monthly wine class they do, which we go to sometimes and sometimes we don't. This month's was a wine & cheese pairing class, which included several cracker options. So, I tasted eight different wines, had several bites of cheese, and with the class not filled to capacity and two settings on the table next to us with untouched cheese also laid out, Shobhit and I partook of those as well.

I was up a good two pounds when I weighed myself this morning.

Oh well. On the way out after the class, I got a fun selfie with an oversided Moscow Mule copper mug. That made it all worth it!

This was the first of these classes hosted by Connor, the Assitant Manager at that store. He was fine, but I think I prefer the woman who usually hosts when we go to these. I forget her name.

It wasn't the most nutritious dinner—eight different cheeses and eight different wines—but it was tasty, although my taste palate clearly isn't sophisticated enough to note any difference in cheese flavors when just eating them without any wine. But, whatever. I love free food.

After having met up with Karen in person for lunch at the Six-Seven restaurant at the Edgewater Hotel during my Birth Week, today we reverted back to spending the lunch hour over FaceTime.

For some reason FaceTime kept not working. After several attempts at calling each other, we finally switched over to Zoom and that actually worked totally fine, no issue at all.

We talked about a bunch of stuff, but then went over a lot about this work trip I am likely to be taking, my first "business trip" as a PCC employee (after 21 years working here), for a three-day conference in St. Paul in early August. Karen does these sorts of trips so often she's basically a "business trip machine," so she wound up being a perfect person to talk to. She had a lot of helpful hints and suggestions.

I could tell more, but I have some work stuff I really need to tend to so it's time to post this and get back to it!
