Not a lot to report here today. I guess I could mention that we had Gabby Davis as a speaker here in person at the office this morning, which was exciting to many of us, as she was by far the most compelling speaker at the Co+nvergence conference in St. Paul last year. The conference is canceled for this year, so it's nice that at least we get to see her speak here in our neck of the woods this year.
I also just had my biweekly Zoom lunch with Karen. Not a lot to report on there either: we talked a lot about the state of the company she runs, and then I told her about all the travel plans I have clicking into place for the year, which I have already written about here.

Shobhit worked last night. I went to Steamworks, my first time back since November—a three-month break, both because I spent a lot of time tactically avoiding it when otherwise too close to family gatherings on the calendar (I didn't want to risk catching a cold, or worse, and spreading it) and because, honestly, I'm just not as into it as I used to be. I sure was last night, though. In fact, in a rare occurrence that hasn't happened in ages, I actually got what I wanted out of it surprisingly quickly, in and out of there within about two hours.
I did have to buy a new six-month membership. I forgot that a big reason for the timing of when I went in November was that it was just before my last six-month membership was to expire, saving the money of having to renew then. I think I got a price break last night due to getting there just before 6:00, though; when I renewed last May, that price plus the private room I rented totaled at $66, but last night I only had to pay $55. I hadn't budgeted for this, but I
had budgeted $65 for a Costco run that never happened before today's paycheck, so that worked out kind of perfectly.
