There's a lady, named Mary, who lives at the end of the hall from our condo, on the same floor—you go to the end of the hall to the east from our door, where Alexia used to live right next door to us and where the Michaels still live on the other side of her old condo; you turn to the left and Mary's condo is the door at the end of that bend of the hallway.
She has
two beautiful cats. She is also, I only learned this month, an artist. She had new works to debut in a showing at a gallery space yesterday evening, and Shobhit and I went.
The space was at 110 Union, between 1st and 2nd, the entrance right by the alley. It was clearly an old office space, most of it just empty. I found it to be surprisingly photogenic, and I got
a 28-shot photo album out of the evening. A couple of the shots actually included Mary's art, or Mary herself.
She had nine different paintings, collectively called
The Greek Muses. Shobhit was particularly enamored with one, which was also my favorite: it sort of looked like the figure was holding up a camera to take a photo. I don't know if Shobhit saw it that way. Anyway, a framed print was $122, and Shobhit was very tempted to buy it. He didn't, though. I kind of feel like our budgets are too tight for that kind of purchase, but then, I'm spending hundreds on my Birth Week, so, whatever.

They had finger snacks there, and that basically served as my dinner. I had several crackers with hummus, and two sugar cookies shaped like butterflies, and two of the Oreos, and a small plate of nuts. Combining that with all I ate at the in-person POS meeting yesterday at the Bothell store, I was up a couple of pounds this morning. Sad face. :(
I rode my bike home from work, and we left again immediately, walking back downtown for this event. We took the bus back home.
I stayed up later than I normally would, because the first three episodes of
Andor season 2 were released this week—they're doing 3 episodes each week for four weeks. That allowed me to subscribe to Disney+ for one month and cover all those weeks. I did go for the $9.99 level that includes commercials, which I wish I didn't have to do as the commercials are truly annoying, but otherwise it would have been $15.99.
I might have saved some of the episodes to watch later, but my Birth Week begins tonight and I will not likely have a lot of time for TV for the next 10 days. Work has been kind of nuts this week and I still have had tons to do this morning alone, just to help Amanda and Cathryn be prepared for what needs done or monitoring in my absence. I think things are coming together okay, and when I leave this afternoon, I wash my hands of it all! Until May 5, anyway.
Unfortunately I also got a flat tire on my bike on the way to work this morning. So I have that to deal with too; I may just take it home on the bus this evening.
