Sun, 15:16: Birth Week Viewpoint #14! Jose Rizal Park, Beacon Hill

Height of “hole in fence” viewpoint above sea level: ~180 ft (~55 m)
Spectacular vantage point on downtown Seattle from the south—and of course, now that I’m *not* climbing up an actual mountain for an ostensibly amazing view, it’s back to beautiful weather!
Shobhit and I had a lovely walk, roughly three miles from home to this park.
Side note: Dr. José Rizal was a Filipino writer by whose works the Philippine Revolution of the 1890s was inspired. He was executed by Spanish colonial government firing squad, for the crime of rebellion, in 1896.
There’s a bronze bust of him at the park, by Filipino sculptor Anastacio Caedo, and I totally meant to find it, and then spaced it! I was too focused on getting this iconic photo of the Seattle skyline. I guess I’ll just have to go back.
We also passed through Daejeon Park on the way there, named after Seattle’s Korean sister city, which features a beautiful Korean style pagoda. https://t.co/3flsOToh5D
