Not much to update you on today. I had no plans last night, and deliberately made no plans—there was a time when I thought I might see a movie yesterday, but that idea got chucked out the window at least a couple of weeks ago.
Friday-Sunday this past weekend were totally filled up with my weekend trip to Fox Island. Tonight, our flight out to D.C. leaves at 9:50; we're aiming to leave home to catch the bus downtown at 6:30, give or take. That will leave me all of about ninety minutes between getting home from work tonight and leaving, during which I'll do the final touches of packing my stuff.
This left last night as the only evening to really do the bulk of our packing. This was also slightly tricky between Shobhit and me, as he had a stage reading rehearsal between 7:00 and 10:00, and he walked down to where it was located in SODO so he left around 6:00. There was very little time when we were both home at the same time. We've done a lot of our respective packing separately, making the packing process for this trip feel a bit piecemeal. It does make me worry slightly that we'll forget something, but I think we'll actually be fine.
Once I get home tonight, I just have certain things to pack into my backpack, because I took it to work today but will also take it on my trip. But with my laptop and the last remaining cosmetics packed, we should be good to go.

Over the weekend, I had a chai mix that I had brought and could have used to make chai both mornings—but, I slept in far later than I anticipated on Sunday, not even waking up until about 7:40 a.m., which genuinely shocked me. I had to get up and get to my shower and getting ready immediately, and Gabriel and Garret and I all left for our bike ride immediately after that. as I noted yesterday, we managed to get out of the house at 10:58 a.m. and check-out was at 11:00.
So: no time for chai. This also meant the last half of the half-gallon of milk I brought was left unused. I packed it with ice packs into my cooler to take back home, even though it had an expiration of 5/30. Shobhit also still had a little bit left in one of the old, still open half-gallons at home. So I combined the two to make chai for Shobhit and myself yesterday when I got home from work, using up both of the opened jugs of milk we had.
Shobhit had a potato dish prepared, and I heated up a Trader Joe's garlic naan to have with it. We'll have the same for dinner tonight, leaving very little perishable in the fridge for our weeklong trip (we land back in Seattle Tuesday evening next week).
I spent a fair amount of time finalizing my packing last night, or at least as much as I could. By and large I feel like we're all set—and I am very excited for this trip. Off we go!
