It's a good thing I don't have a huge amount to update you on today, because I usuallyw write up a draft of the day's Daily Lunch Update before I even take my lunch break (don't tell anyone!), but today I completely spaced it. I didn't even select the photos or put in the html commands that are usually the first steps to these posts.

This is because I have gotten kind of obsessed with expanding the Price Rounding Rules in our item maintenance system, and I've entered a ton of data into it today. I started it yesterday afternoon. But, as far as I can tell I've done everything I need to do, but PriceGeneration is still working the way it was before, as opposed to applying the new Rounding Rules I entered. Either I'm missing something about how it works or I just don't have the credentialed permissions I need from IT or something.

There's also another time-consuming task I pivoted to because the deadline is today. Edited manufature coupon order numbers from stores, to send to NCG. Riveting stuff, I'm sure. In short, today I neglected my usual efforts for the DLU in favor of doing the actual work I get paid for. What a pain in the ass!

Very brief update on the play Shobhit was let go from last Sunday: in the wake of posting to my socials with the information on how people can get refunds, I had text exchanges with Gina, and Alexia, and even Ivan asked what had happened. With both Alexia and Ivan I just referred them to Sunday's blog post, and then followed up with some details from the next day. I think basically everyone who bought tickets has now been notified. I still haven't seen my own refund, I should note, but I don't know how long that is expected to take.

Alexia said she still wants to hang out on March 22, which was going to be the day we went to Olympia together to see the play. Naturally she thinks whatever we do should include Shobhit too. I don't think Danielle had bought tickets or even made a defintive plan yet, but I should still make sure she knows; I haven't texted her directly yet.

Shobhit still hasn't emailed the director to ask for a detailed explanation, though he plans to. As far as I'm concerned he can take all the time he needs. Alexia suggested he "position it as an opportunity to improve his skill set," which is not a bad idea. They owe him that, she added. "What they did was cowardly. I rather agree.

I suppose Shobhit will get a Social Review point for last night, although it was kind of a cheat: we saw a movie together, or rather, we saw the last half of my movie together. I went to see Midwinter Break, which Shobhit declined to join me for even though I had $10 in AMC Rewards to use (and more than covered the price of his ticket because of half-off Tuesdays), and even though it's largely set in Amsterdam.

Shobhit still hadn't seen Pillion, though, and I knew he really wanted to see it, plus I knew even before seeing Midwinter Break that Pillion was a much better movie. So, I suggested using my rewards to book him a ticket to that movie instead. All I had to do was forward him the confirmation email, and he could get the QR code scanned from that without needing to rely on the AMC app on my phone.

His movie was at 3:45; mine was at 4:45. My movie, at a short (yet plodding) 90 minutes, was shorter, by roughly 15 minutes. Both movies were at Pacific Place. It turned out Pillion was in the theater room right next to mine—I was in 7; he was in 8—and when his movie finished he texted me to ask what theater I was in. There was only one other person in my theater with me so I didn't have much of a problem texting him the theater number. So then he came and just sat with me until my movie ended.

Shobhit wasn't much impressed with what he saw of my movie. He's usually excellent at guessing what grade I will give a movie, but I think his missing the first half was probably a factor when he said, "C-minus?" Nope, I gave it a B-minus, albeit a rather generous one. I did really like the acting in it. So, points for that. I can't imagine ever watching it again.

We decided to take the bus home rather than walking. Normally I would have walked by I was given a sample 4pk of hard cider at work and my backpack was heavy. We took the #12 straight to Trader Joe's on 17th and Madison, where we got some milk and a couple other things, then walked the two blocks home from there. We had dinner, leftovers of the potato tofu dish Shobhit made the other night with scratch-made parathas Shobhit made while I wrote my review, and which were truly delicious.

Then we wathed one episode of season two of Paradise on Hulu; one episode of season one of Patriot on Prime Video; I washed some dishes and I went to bed.
