For several weeks Laney and I had The Moment on our calendar Tuesday this week and Pillion on our calendar Thursday. But, The Moment isn't opening locally this week and so we're seeing that tomorrow instead; Pillion, it turns out, doesn't open wide until the 20th so right now it's on our calendar the 19th. Sometimes it opens a week earlier than wide release in Seattle markets, so it still remains to be seen whether we'll be able to see that one next week instead.

What all this means is, I had yet another quiet evening at home last night. The second one in a row!

We did eventually watch one more of Shobhit's Actor Awards screeners. We watched Marty Supreme. I think it's a very good movie that nevertheless falls a bit short of living up the hype; Shobhit found many reasons to dislike it—especially as soon as he saw that Shark Tank persona and President Fuckwit supporter Kevin O'Leary had a part in it. But, he also really didn't like Timothée Chalamet's character in it, which in my view made him lose sight of how that's the point. Chalamet's performance is excellent, but Shobhit is letting his dislike for the character color his opinion of the performance.

Not that it matters to me that much. Even I would vote for Leonardo DiCaprio in One Battle After Another over Timothée Chalamet. But, DiCaprio isn't going to win, for dual reasons: he's already got an Oscar; and he hasn't bothered to do any real Oscar campaigning. Timothée Chalamet is very much a different story. It's too bad these awards are never based on the performance alone, but whatever.

I kind of paid half-attention to the movie, using my AirPods to continue working on my 50th birthday video. I found a curious effect, as last night I focused on the three minutes dedicated to my ages of thirty through forty: this time I did find it difficult to find a lot of footage where I am actually in front of the camera. And some pretty seminal moments occurred during my thirties, including my being in the room when Danielle gave birth to both of her daughters (2004 and 2008: I have all the video footage of the former but of course I am never on camera; I have only still photos of the latter, so I threw one photo in there from that), and Shobhit's and my wedding in 2013.

Mind you, I do have lots of video clips from this period, but for a retrospective of this sort, I am looking for either notable time spent in front of the camera, which I have done far less often with smart phone videos than I did with old-school video cameras; or footage from pivotal moments in my life. I even rewatched the "Thirty Something" video I did for my 40th birthday which focused only on the previous 10 years, and it's very heavy with still photos and pretty light on video clips.

At present on the current project, I have only managed two and a half minutes of content from my thirties. I did just think of at least one more clip I could use from the wedding, so I may go back and throw that in there.

Otherwise, I now just need to fill up the final three minutes from my forties, from which I have a lot more content to choose from. I should pretty easily be able to, for example, fill up three and a half minutes instead of just three. After that, I need to work on the sound editing and adding onscreen credits. I have a pretty fun idea for that.
