  • Tue, 13:04: As a huge lover of and advocate for public transit in all cities, naturally I feel this piece is well worth a read. It also lists a ton of benefits I hadn't even thought of but which make a lot of sense. It's also worth noting that among the current zero-fare transit systems in Washington State, Thurston County's Intercity Transit serves by far the largest population—the county is home to 300,000 people, fourth-largest in the Puget Sound region, behind King, Pierce and Snohomish Counties. Public transit has been free there now since January 2020, and by all accounts it's going great; this might be the thing I am most proud of regarding my birth city of Olympia.
