Sun, 20:06: Tonight we did Afternoon Tea at the Queen Mary Tea Room, the oldest independently owned tea house in the United States, opened 1988, and somehow I never heard of it in the 28 years I've lived in Seattle, until Jennifer found it two months ago! She and her family came up from Shelton for the weekend to take her youngest, Ian, at his request, for his birthday. It was so much fun! The fifth afternoon tea place I've ever been to, and easily the most fun. We even got to meet Mary herself. https://t.co/TclBc964uv
Sun, 22:09: P.S. I asked Mary how long the place has been open and she actually said, “Probably since before you were born.” I later learned it opened in 1988. Clearly the sole takeaway from that was this: she thought I was 38!
