This quarter's Social Review list has a number of anomalies. Shall we run through them as usual? Let's do it! Shobhit: Still #1 as always, but his point count is down (eight points from 34 in the fall), mostly because of his absence most of the very month we are in right now: he's been visiting his mother in India since March began, and won't be back until Monday next week. His numbers would still have been down anyway -- I don't think he'd have managed eight points in only two and a half weeks -- but his trip certainly widened the margin. Jennifer: Has she ever ranked as high as #3 on this list before? I really don't think she has. And she's one of three family members to make the rare feat of breaking into the top six. In Jennifer's case, it's largely because of Shobhit's absence, and my intent to keep my weekends busy: two points for staying overnight at her place the night of Dad and Sherri's 35th anniversary party; another two points for her coming to stay the night with me in Seattle the next weekend. Without those two things, she would have only the one point for dinner on Christmas Eve as usual. Ivan: I don't suppose this one is so much of an anomaly, even a full year in the wake of his moving out as our roommate -- I continue to visit him regularly, on average once every couple of months. There wound up being a four-month break between his October visit and this one, but his staying several days this time afforded him five points in one swoop, thereby landing him the #4 spot. And why would he rank higher than Dad or Sherri or Karen, who all have the same number of points? Well, because Ivan was staying with us for five days straight, which means the cumulative time spent with him would be much greater. . . . But of course, that also brings us to Dad and Sherri: They are both within the top six, also very unusual, for more reasons of extra events that by their very nature are very irregular: their visit to Seattle for the walk through the new Highway 99 tunnel in February; their 35th anniversary party in March. Alicia: My unique means of counting points for her, where I only give her half a point for each "loop walk" since they only last about twenty minutes, ends with this quarter anyway. She resigned from PCC just last week. She did message me on Facebook just last night to tell me she already misses me, which was sweet of her. Danielle squeaking into the top 10 is pretty par for the course, as is the relatively significance of the oscillation of Gabriel's standing on this list (rank in the fall: #18, with 1 point; rank in the winter: #13, with 2 points). Come to think of it in regards to Gabriel, it's been a while since he ranked very high at all; not since summer 2018 has he hit #3, with six points. Anyway, Gina barely makes it in the top 10, with Beth right behind her at #11, their three points also because of both the weekend walking and biking the Alaskan Way viaduct and the new Highway 99 tunnel; and then Dad and Sherri's anniversary dinner. Everyone beyond that who I haven't mentioned yet are pretty par for the course -- as is the total number of people ranked going down from 60 in the fall to 36 now, just because there have been fewer parties and what parties there were had fewer people. Even padding out to 36 this time is only thanks to Dad and Sherri's anniversary party, and before that the work "Merchandising Team Celebration" in January. The work thing in particular added ten people who aren't often on the Social Review. Without that, I'd only have 26 people ranked this time around.
