Not much to tell today. No plans or social engagements last night.

Shobhit was in dress clothes when I got home, sat at the table for a Zoom acting class. I think it was meant to last just from 6:00 to 7:00 but it was closer to 7:30 or maybe even 8:00 by the time it actually finished, and Shobhit went to his typical Monday news programs online after that.

I spent basically the bulk of the evening otherwise watching an old, very long movie in the bedroom.

I watched the 1963 film The Great Escape, which I don't believe I had ever watched before. That movie has a lot of movie stars in it from the era. Also, it has a pretty downer ending for such a huge Hollywood classic. I guess they stuck with the real story it was based on, though, which meant very few people who got out in this elaborate escape made it alive in the end; most were recaptured and shot.

I just felt like watching a movie, and specifically one that was a notable part of cinema history but I had never seen. I filtered my "Watchlist" on my Letterboxd account to movies available on streamers, and that narrowed it down to 7 titles, only 4 of them narrative feature films. One of those was The Great Escape, so I watched it.

It wasn't bad. Surprisingly engaging for how old and relatively slow it was, and 173 minutes long.
